I would say it's pretty simple. The wests power and wealth mainly relies on Oil, which is drying up. No?
No, we have tons of reserves up in Alaska...
No jobs so no one can afford cars or fuel...

Super basic.
Better exception handling in Finder.
When you copy files and some already exist, rather than terminating the action with no clue what was the hold-up, complete it with a list of exceptions for dealing with as a separate matter.
There are other examples of where exception handling could be added.
Think of all the features we had under text based computers that were LOST when we went to graphical based computers, and reinstall them.
Even though many of the files are media, their names are text. :D
Funny suggestion: Finder personalities.
OS 4.2
OS 8.6

Yeah I like the vertical traffic lights too. Makes the top border smaller which is good. It helps by not taking as much pixels for the top border.

I do thnk they look great in white.
It's a shame that it's this late in the iP4's life cycle that it's being released but they must have perfected whatever was holding it back ready for the next release.

That's still far out in the future.
I guarantee you that iLife '11 and Mac OS X 10.7 will be delivered via CD/DVDs.
I don't think it is as far as some people may think. There are already good examples of similar systems. In the UK, most TV Channels deliver content online. The BBC were first (i think) with iPlayer. They offer their HD content via iPlayer as well.
I am sure BT made some complaints initially over the extra demand placed on them. However, the other channels followed and BT had to suck it up.
There will certainly have to be a period of transition. Especially for countries with less developed infrastructure.

As much as I'd like a new macbook or iMac with a 750gb hard disk, I think I'm going to stick with what I've got until 802.11n and HD/Blueray burners are standardised on the mac.
I'd personally like to see a smaller macbook revision, for ultra traveling, possibly with extra securty for the traveler....
Well, I hope you enjoy that computer when it comes out sometime (if ever) in 2008.

ACK!!!!!
I think this update killed my firewire!!!!
My Mac Pro and my Macbook took the updates, my Macbook Pro C2D did not need it.
I tried backing up my Macbook to my Macbook Pro and Mac Pro via Target Mode, and now ALL THREE are NOT seeing ANY firewire device!!!
What Happened????

Either way ... I do not want to derail this thread too far from "the Jews owning the White House"
But they DO own the white house, haven't you heard?? Don't tell the Fhrer or he may attempt to invade us... shhhh...it's a big jew conspiracy :)

I'm blind in my right eye, and this will allow for me to experience 3D for the first time. Existing methods require binocular vision but this works for me, and I was pretty darned convinced. I don't see how you guys can expect better than this, seriously!

...Look unless you are constantly chasing the latest and greatest then you are going to miss every other iphone model. I have the iphone and by the time my contract runs out I will likely be getting the iphone 6. I will miss the iphone 5.
Very well said. A very thoughtful and rational statement. The histrionics from some members can be too much at times.

I want to try it out. Also the camera seemed bigger in the review videos I saw than in the photos - not a bad thing but still, just something I noticed.

There are "steam" achievements but I know those don't add to your xbox achievement points. I'm sure the experience is all the same, but I had to get it on PC/Mac even though I have an xbox. All my friends have gotten it on PC or PS3, either way we can play together via steamworks. Xbox guys are going to be lonely hehe

Been waiting for a white iPhone 4 since day one. So glad that it will finally be released. Can't figure out why everyone here seems to hate on it.

Let me tell you...
I currently have an iPod 5.5, (because I had it replaced and they gave me the newer one) playing videos isn't as great as it sounds. I can only get about 1:45 minutes of video playing time. I use my iPod while riding the train to work everyday, and I can only view half of a two hour movie, because I don't want my battery to die before I get to work.
I think this is the main concern of Apple delaying the launch of this new iPod Video. They need to have figured out a way for the battery life to last at least 4 to 6 hours...:(
Either you really have a 5G iPod or you have a crap battery they should last around 4-6 hours.

Man, even after midnight PST, the stream is unwatchable. I can't go >1 minute w/o some significant multisecond complete stoppage or major video glitch (where only the audio comes through). The results are equally bad on both my PC and Mac. I'm going to have to either wait a few days or start looking for a torrent.
I think last year's keynote was this bad too or worse the first day.
Maybe Apple should rent some time on Discovery Channel at ~3 am like TiVo does for "Teleworld paid programming" (for their clips) so that PVR and VCR owners can at least record it. It might even save on their bandwidth bill to Akamai.

The thing is no one ever consulted the people who lived there.....
not true......the brits tried repeatedly to get the palestinians engaged but they consistently refused. Multiple times a single state solution was proposed and rejected by the palestinians.

Bummer on the GPU. The 7800 is probably worthless anyways :p
Oh and I did manage to get all 4 clients running the the G5. Trying to figure out the PPD on that?
glad you got the 4 clients working. i think there are a few programs like fahmon that might be able to tell you your PPD. but i'm not sure since that's ppc

That is the same deal at my school! It's a shame our schools are "mac ghetto". :p
The eMac G4's are new this year though!
Only a few of the labs had eMacs, last year it was all iMac G3's!!!
The sad part, is presenting a PowerPoint in class, and having to log-in with a G3 iMac, and try to present something, just to find out it is as slow as a turtle.
They really need to pick up some new iMacs.
