i'm in search of three ipod shuffles and i need them as cheap as possible. iirc, the apple store for education is selling refurbs (which are okay, as long as they're apple recertifieds) for 79 each. if anyone can find something for 69 (or less!) please let me know. i need them as giveaways for a program at my school.

It would help if you clarified the following:
Which iPod (iPod Nano?)
"pulled in" (Plugged in?)
"sound from the ipod" (built in speaker?)
"both" (Built in speaker and headphones?)
"either device" (Built in speaker and headphones?)

I will assume you are asking if it is possible to get sound through the iPod's built in speaker and the headphones at the same time.

The answer is no.

I have an iPod Touch 4g version 4.3.1. I've been checking on youtube hot to jailbreak and there's always a step where I have to download 4.3.1...but i'm already on 4.3.1. Can't I just directly use RedSnow to jailbreak my iPod Touch?

Tethered or Untethered, I don't really mind.

Looks like there are many MacBooks as well as MacBoko Pro's on sale in the Apple Refurb shop. I'm not saying its proof we're getting new laptops today, but if you're looking to save a bundle and don't mind "previous gen" hardware it looks like a pretty good deal. :)

Sorry, like I said before ^^ I need a low end card, probably like a ATI Rage that I just need to display video, no gaming.
Just a suggestion: 16mb would be ok but the radeoon 7000 for only 40 is a good deal and it will make expose a HELLLLL of a lot smother.

Its good switching isn't it! I switched in March this year, and I would never look back. The iBooks are lovely, I'm hoping one day I get a job where I can have a laptop of my own- then I'd ask for an iBook! Its weird how it makes you look back on PCs in such a "why didn't I switch before?!" way. :)

I have been watching the price of Apple stocks and they are down $20 from last week when I almost bought a single share. Glad I didn't though. If I get this job today or tomorrow I think I will buy one or two shares while it's sagging.

The way I read this article is: Apple is going for that little bit more,which cost a bit more also but they know that the potential clients are willing to afford it so why wouldn't they do it? Samsung can't afford the same move so they cry out loud saying their better...
(Ok maybe it's a little exaggerated but you get the idea...)

sn0wbreeze is pro... after trying to get pwnagetool to work for hours yesterday, i used the new sn0wbreeze release and got my ipad to tethered 4.3 JB in about 10 minutes! :)

Oracle has long dumped Oracle for OSX, so I'm not hopeful that Oracle Java 7 will ever see the light of day on Macs.
Oracle did no such thing. Were you maybe thinking of Sun? Many years ago?

No Java - No OpenOffice and a load of other apps on OSX.
You gotta admit, those are some of the fugliest and un-Mac-like applications out there.
