I am trying to extend my wireless network via an ethernet cable. The Airport Express is set to Join a wireless network, with the Allow Ethernet clients box checked.

I get nothing. According to the network preferences, there is no signal/ethernet connection. The cable is fine as I've plugged it into my Time Capsule and it works well.

    Any suggestions? Thanks!

Yes, I am actually doing this on here.

I need to sell my iphone in anticipation of the 3G iPhone. My Phone just came from apple today, and still has a plastic cover on it.

    8GB

I live in Los Angeles. Local Sales are preferred, give me some offers.

Its New, but I will post pictures none the less when I can.

I am more than willing to Unlock the phone for use on any network

I'm willing to accept any reasonable offer, but am looking at $350 +

    Thanks

    JC7

Do you accept trades? I would trade you my 16GB iPod Touch for the iPhone. If you wanted, you could then sell the iPod and make more money than you would selling the iPhone :p

you can only run gpu3 with nvidia 400 series cards, unless you run the command like this:

fah -gpu 0 -forcegpu nvidia_g80 -advmethods -verbosity 9 -local

try that with what you did before and see if it works!

Technically you can't return a digital download so they would in effect be giving it to you free hence the lack of refunds.

It is the same reason retailers don't have to offer refunds on CDs, DVDs or Games (at least in the UK). You can quite easily buy the CD or whatever, rip it and then return it and get it for free.

+1. In the U.S. its actually illegal (for the business) to return an opened copy of a software or CD and exchange it for something else (I understand the OPs situation is different). I used to work at Circuit City and Best Buy about 12 years ago (and before that KB Toys) and we used to have training on this. Any exception that is made results in the store taking the full hit.

Digital downloads obviously can't be refunded because who's to say someone didn't keep the file on their computer?

Yes, that does look very cool. :) Would you please post a pic of how you wrapped the PS printout for the top layer around the rounded corners of the top casing? I didn't understand that. :(

4 pin = 400 FW no power - used on DV video cameras
    6 pin = 400 FW with power - HD's, scanners, etc
    9 pin = 800 FW with power

The great thing about firewire... no processor power is used, unlike USB that uses the processor.

    Radeon Mobility X1600 (http://www.channelregister.co.uk/2005/12/06/ati_unveils_mobility_radeon_x1600/)

Not sure this is the correct place for this: Mods feel free to move it!

Given that Apple seem to favour ATI chips for their high-end laptops I think that this is quite an interesting announcement. We may well see this chip in future PowerBooks. What is really interesting about this chip is that is supports Avivo.

What is so interesting about Avivo? Avivo supports hardware H.264 (http://www.ati.com/technology/h264.html) decode acceleration. This could mean that next-generation PowerBooks can decode full 1080p HD content. Probably at under 50% CPU usage.

The server is behind our primary router and on our primary network. I sometimes use another computer on the same network, and sometimes use the server's own GUI to do tasks. Typically when I need to change something on the server from outside the network, I'll use screen sharing rather than remote server admin.

Inspired by a user's thread who is unhappy with the way their KB backlight works (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1130722), I decided to play with the Ambient Light Sensor and KB backlight on my MBP.

I was a bit disappointed to see that unlike under W7 (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd318953(v=vs.85).aspx)there is no official API to access the sensor data. Really?

Anyhow, I quickly found this code: http://osxbook.com/book/bonus/chapter10/light/ and various comments around that it doesn't work anymore. A bit more digging led to this code: http://google-mac-qtz-patches.googlecode.com/svn-history/r5/trunk/AmbientLightSensor which does actually work and allowed me to whip this up.

A few reasons for the post:

Hi, if I want to update my jailbroken iPhone will I need to restore it before (or at any point during)?
I realise I'll lose my jailbreak, but I'm just wondering if it would require a restore.

(Sorry if it's been asked over and over again but I can't find anything that directly answers this question.)

I just like how this guy seems to know the 'info' he put in there.
    I like the last part as a fact, Apple will unveil OS X 10.7 Lion next week;

I have 3 of them.

    White one sold in Japan
    Black one sold in USA
Grey one sold in Europe (KMP 2000), rarest of bunch.

A bunch of Pippin software, accessories, memory, and about 100 titles.

One day I will unpack and take pictures of them all. :)

MKJJ: WOW, nice collection! Especially a KMP Dev unit!
I see you have the 16MB memory module, that the one I sold you?
